Back pain plagues many people and it can affect your enjoyment of life and your activities, like playing Bingo. Sitting can be hard on a back, but sitting improperly can cause more pain than necessary. One way to help is to sit in an ergonomic position while playing Bingo. Here are a few tips on how to sit properly so you don’t aggravate unnecessary back pain during the game.
Sit facing forward, as opposed to sitting with your torso twisted.
Plant your feet flat on the floor or a box so they are hip width apart. If you need to, add a low box from home or a plastic bin to your Bingo equipment in order to put your feet on to stay in an ergonomic position.
Keep your knees at a 90º angle. Likewise, keep your hip joints at a 90º angle and your elbows at a 90º angle while you daub or mark your numbers. If you need a little more height in your chair to keep your arms at 90º, use a Bingo cushion to give you comfort as you sit and a little boost higher in the seat.
Sit keeping your head in line with your body, so your ears are directly over your shoulders and your shoulders are back and down, not hunched to your ears.
Be sure you are sitting flat so both hips are level.
